HSE currently has two employment postings for consideration:  ITS/RWIS Sales Manager and Engineering Technician.

1.  ITS/RWIS Sales Manager
High Sierra Electronics, Inc. is seeking a motivated ITS/RWIS Sales Manager to generate new revenue by selling comprehensive weather information products, systems, and services to government, DOTs, and commercial markets.  Responsibilities include making customer calls, providing product demonstrations, writing product/contract proposals, consultative selling, and account management for top customers.

Requirements:
- Generate new business opportunities through a variety of sales activities including cold calling, independent lead generation, direct presentations, and prospect development to achieve the required level of sales funnel activity.
- Achieve or exceed defined sales and revenue goals of the position.
- Collaborate with fellow sales, marketing and product management teams on various sales efforts.
- Expect 25-50% travel rate.
- Perform account management duties, including problem solving with existing customers.
- Work closely with customers to identify their needs and accurately specify product configurations.
- Complete sales quotations.
- Provide forecast information.
- Attend relevant trade conferences, as required.
- Stay current with knowledge of industry and competition.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years sales experience or equivalent.
- Experience with DOT management, public transportation or highway safety management preferable OR minimum 5 years of demonstrated success in outside sales in a competitive service industry.
- Solid interpersonal, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to act independently toward achieving sales goals and objectives.
- Ability to grasp new concepts, technologies and products quickly and effectively.
- Technical aptitude: adept at learning and absorbing technical product information quickly.
- Must be goal orientated.
- Strong ability to "close the sale".
- Ability to work with all levels of government.
- Must be flexible and able to deal well with changing demands and schedules.

2.  Engineering Technician
High Sierra Electronics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support its Grass Valley, CA operations.  The qualified candidate should have an AS in Electronics or related field, minimum of 4+ years of experience in an electronics engineering and manufacturing test environment.  Experience as an Engineering Technician and technical field experience is desired.  Infrequent travel is required.

Familiarity and experience with analog and digital environmental sensors, Ethernet data communications configuration/set-up, and RF communications is desirable.  Additional responsibilities include product/sensor evaluation and product development support and testing.

Must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently.  This position's compensation will include base pay, profit sharing, retirement benefits, medical benefits, vacation and sick time.
